Newburg Law began in 2010 with a simple goal: to offer legal support that feels human. After years of seeing people overwhelmed by confusing systems and impersonal advice, we wanted to build something different—something clearer, more grounded, and actually responsive to what people need. Since day one, we’ve focused on honest communication, real advocacy, and showing up when it matters most.

At Newburg Law, no one’s working in a silo. We talk things out, ask questions, share ideas, and back each other up—because that’s how better decisions get made. Whether it’s a tough case or a quick check-in, we work as a team so our clients always get the benefit of more than one perspective. It’s not about ego—it’s about getting it right, together.

Your Family. Your Future. Your Foundation.

These words reflect our focus: supporting families, planning for the future, and building a solid legal foundation. Whether you’re navigating a major life change or preparing for what’s ahead, we provide clear, practical legal guidance grounded in experience and care.

Daniel Sturdevant is a skilled and highly respected attorney in the greater Lansing area.  He graduated in 2018 from Michigan State University College of Law, Magna Cum Laude.   During law school he focused on Criminal Law, first interning at the Washtenaw Public Defender Office, then at the Eaton County Prosecuting Attorney Office. After graduation, he served as the law clerk to the Honorable John D. Maurer of the 56th Circuit Court. After his Clerkship, he joined a private Okemos law firm, where he worked on criminal cases all over mid-Michigan, as well as civil litigation in both state and federal courts. Wanting to focus exclusively on Criminal Law, Dan joined the Eaton County Public Defender’s Office for three years before going into private practice.   While in private practice he has earned the respect of the legal community and his clients, practicing in every state courthouse in the Tri-County Area.

Dan joined Newburg Law, as an Of-Counsel Attorney in February of 2026. We are honored to have him working with our firm and we know our clients will benefit from having him as part of our team.
